Safety & Medical
4 questions

Mouth taping is safe for healthy adult nasal breathers with no pre-existing breathing or airway conditions. It is not safe for people with sleep apnea, untreated breathing disorders, severe nasal congestion or allergies, or while consuming alcohol.

⚠️The FDA's March 2025 advisory was specifically about sleep apnea risk. If you have never been tested for sleep apnea — symptoms include waking gasping, excessive daytime sleepiness despite adequate sleep, or partner reports of stopped breathing — get tested before using mouth tape.

If you are a healthy adult nasal breather with no known breathing issues, no medical consultation is required before using the stack.

In March 2025, the FDA issued an advisory specifically about the risk of using mouth tape for individuals with undiagnosed sleep apnea. The concern is that sealing the mouth can worsen oxygen levels in people whose airway already collapses during sleep.

We honor this concern explicitly. The Noctimize Stack is not for individuals with sleep apnea, breathing disorders, or while consuming alcohol. This disclaimer appears on every product page, packaging unit, and onboarding communication.

If you have been tested for sleep apnea and cleared, the FDA advisory does not apply to you. If you haven't been tested and have symptoms, get tested first. We can wait.

No. The Noctimize Stack is not designed for use with CPAP or any other breathing assistance device. If you are a CPAP user, your sleep apnea or breathing disorder requires medical management. Mouth tape is specifically excluded from use alongside CPAP therapy. Not for individuals with sleep apnea. Not a substitute for medical care.

No. The Noctimize tape uses a medical tape grade hypoallergenic adhesive, skin-friendly, biocompatibility tested — engineered to release at body temperature. Peel slowly from one corner inward. It should come off cleanly without pulling skin.

If you experience any irritation, test the tape on your forearm for 30 minutes before your first night use. This is covered in Bonus 1 (7-Night Sleep Reset Protocol). Skin tearing is the most common complaint with competitor tapes that use acrylic-based adhesives. We don't use acrylic adhesives — and we name our adhesive ingredient explicitly, which no other brand in this category does.

The Products

Yes. The Noctimize tape uses a lip-shaped contour and a hypoallergenic medical-grade adhesive engineered specifically for facial hair contact. We tested across four beard lengths from stubble to full bushy.

SomniFix and most Amazon mouth tapes fail on beards because they use a flat rectangular shape with a generic acrylic adhesive. The flat shape tries to make full-surface contact across the lips and surrounding skin — which facial hair disrupts. Our lip-shaped contour makes contact at the lip surface and the skin immediately above and below the mouth opening, which is accessible in almost all beard styles.

For very dense beards covering the entire lip area, Bonus 1 (7-Night Sleep Reset Protocol) includes a beard adaptation guide with trimming recommendations for the lip contact zone.

Our tape uses a medical tape grade hypoallergenic adhesive, skin-friendly, biocompatibility tested. We declare this specification explicitly on every product page and packaging.

No other mouth tape brand specifies their adhesive ingredient beyond vague claims:

  • Hostage Tape: pressure-sensitive — no specification
  • SomniFix: proprietary — no specification
  • Dream Recovery: medical-grade hypoallergenic — no specification

We name it because we can. Science-grade adhesive. Pharmaceutical-grade transparency.

Mouth tape (30 strips): approximately one month at nightly use.
Nasal dilator (3-pack): reusable, 3–6 months with weekly washing. Replace quarterly.
Nasal strips (44 strips): approximately six weeks of nightly use.
Sleep mask: indefinite lifespan with normal care — no consumable component.

The Subscribe & Save option ships every 60 days — designed to match real tape and strip usage simultaneously. Competitors who ship every 30 days create surplus build-up that serves their revenue, not your usage.

No. The 3D contoured design creates an eye cavity that doesn't touch the eyelids or eyelashes regardless of sleep position. Side-sleeper compatibility was a specific design requirement. The memory foam strap conforms to the head without creating pressure points that migrate when you turn over.

The most common mask failure for side-sleepers is a flat mask with a single elastic band — which compresses against the face under the weight of the head. The 3D contour and adjustable strap eliminate both failure modes.

The nasal dilator and nasal strips address two different parts of the airway restriction associated with deviated septa. The dilator opens the internal nasal passage from inside the nostril. The adhesive strip lifts the external nasal wall from outside, reducing resistance at the nasal valve.

Most mild-to-moderate deviated septa benefit from one or both tools. For severe septa — where one nostril is almost completely obstructed — the stack may produce partial improvement but surgical correction (septoplasty) remains the definitive treatment. The 60-Night Test gives you 60 nights to determine whether the stack produces enough change for you.

Results & Onboarding
4 questions

Mouth tape alone closes one of three doors. Most buyers fail because their nose is blocked, the room has light, or both. The Noctimize Stack opens the nose (dilator and strips) and removes light interference (the mask) at the same time it closes the mouth. Three levers, one night.

  • Tape peeled off — adhesive quality or beard issue. Our adhesive and lip-shaped contour address both.
  • Claustrophobic — onboarding issue. The 7-Night Reset Protocol (Bonus 1) solves this with a graduated approach.
  • No visible effect on scores — nasal blockage still present. The dilator and strips address this. Tape alone is insufficient if the nose is the constraint.

Common, expected, and addressed in Bonus 1 (7-Night Sleep Reset Protocol). The protocol starts you on the dilator and strips for nights 1–3 — no tape. Tape comes in on night 4 as a single 1-inch piece in the centre of the lips. Most buyers are using the full strip by night 7.

Important: the tape is a passive cue, not a lock. It does not seal the mouth shut. If you need to breathe through your mouth during the night, the tape will release. The dilator and strips provide sufficient backup airflow for most buyers.

Most buyers see a measurable shift in their sleep score by night seven. Deep sleep adaptation takes longer — the full window is 30 nights.

  • Night 1–3: dilator and strips only. Nasal breathing initiates.
  • Night 4–7: full stack. Most buyers notice dry-mouth reduction and easier waking.
  • Night 7–14: sleep score shifts begin on trackers. REM and deep sleep percentages start normalizing.
  • Night 30: full adaptation. Deep sleep often doubles for significant mouth breathers.

Track with Bonus 2 (Performance Sleep Tracker) or your Whoop, Oura, or Apple Watch.

This is the most common reason mouth tape fails on its own. The nasal dilator addresses internal nasal restriction; the adhesive strip addresses external nasal wall collapse. Both tools reduce the likelihood of mid-night congestion.

For nights with acute congestion from illness or seasonal allergies, use the nasal strips alone rather than the tape. The 7-Night Reset Protocol covers this protocol specifically. In cases of significant acute congestion (full blockage of both nostrils), discontinue the tape until congestion resolves.

Use the Noctimize Stack for 60 nights. If your sleep score — measured by your Whoop, Oura, Apple Watch, Garmin, or any sleep tracker — does not improve, write to refund@noctimize.com. We refund every cent within five business days.

You keep the four physical products. You keep all six digital bonuses. You keep your community access. No questionnaire. No retention call. No "please give us one more week." The refund is the refund.

Email refund@noctimize.com after day 60. Include your order number. We respond within one business day. We do not require photos, tracker screenshots, or proof of use.

Refund is processed within five business days to your original payment method. The four physical products and all bonuses are yours to keep. No return shipping required.

Yes. Every order — first purchase or subscription refill — is covered by the 60-Night Test from the date of that order's delivery confirmation. The refund applies to the amount charged for that specific order.

This directly contrasts with competitors whose refund policies expire after the first order, or whose subscription terms explicitly exclude future refunds.

Subscription & Billing
4 questions

No. The default purchase is a one-time transaction. No auto-billing. No renewal. No subscription unless you actively opt in at checkout.

A Subscribe & Save option exists at $79/60 days — but it requires explicit selection. You will not be enrolled without actively choosing it. This is a direct response to the documented billing practices of Hostage Tape (Trustpilot-documented subscription charges after cancellation). We built our subscription mechanics by looking at exactly what Hostage does — and reversing each dark pattern.

Subscribe & Save ships your Noctimize Stack every 60 days at $79 — a 20% saving. The 60-day cycle matches real tape and strip usage. Competitors who ship every 30 days create surplus build-up that serves their revenue, not your usage.

You can pause, skip, or cancel any time from your account dashboard — one click, no phone call, no retention sequence.

Log into your Noctimize account → Subscriptions → Cancel. No phone call. No confirmation screen asking you to reconsider five times.

If you encounter any issue, email support@noctimize.com with "CANCEL" in the subject line. We'll cancel it within one business day with no questions asked.

A 30-strip tape pack lasts approximately 30 nights. A 44-strip nasal strip pack lasts approximately six weeks. A 60-day shipping cycle matches actual usage — you run out of tape and strips at roughly the same time your next shipment arrives.

Competitors who ship every 30 days create surplus product build-up. This serves their monthly revenue metrics, not your usage. We ship when you need product, not when it suits our numbers.
